Grand Jersey was opened on 13th June 1890 and soon became one of the most fashionable hotels on the Island. During World War II the Channel Islands came under control of the German army and between 1940 and 1945, Grand Jersey was commanded by the occupying forces as administration offices and accommodation for senior personnel and prisoners of war within the cellars. After the war Grand Jersey was sold to Mr L.L. Sangan which he ran until 1976 when the Lapidus family purchased the company.
Over the years, Grand Jersey has been chosen to host the most exciting events in Island history including hosting the Liberation 60 State Banquet in 2005 with honoured guests including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness Prince Philip.
The centre of town from Grand Jersey is only a 7 minute walk

Grand Jersey is only a 15 minute drive from Jersey Airport.
Tassili is Grand Jersey’s fine dining restaurant with a Michelin star and three AA Rosettes and Victorias is our relaxed brasserie. Is guests are staying on a half board basis and would like to dine in Tassili, a £20 allocation towards the Tassili A La Carte menu of £49 is applied.
We can arrange taxi’s for guests or give guests details of the local bus route to and from the airport. A taxi costs roughly £18.00 per journey from the airport to Grand Jersey. The bus route costs less than £2.00 per person.
Grand Jersey is primely located opposite Elizabeth Castle and when the tide is low it will take approximately 20 minutes to walk across to the Castle. When the tide is high there is a Castle Ferry service (a charge applies of around £8.00) which takes approximately 10 minutes.
The Castle Ferry tends to run every 20 minutes from the slipway opposite Grand Jersey.
Due to Jersey having some of the biggest tides in the UK, high water and low water times change daily. The concierge desk has all of the daily times for guests.
Grand Jersey offers a wide variety of events throughout the year with specialised acts brought over but regular entertainment takes place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the different outlets (subject to seasonal change). There are various attractions in Jersey from heritage sites including Elizabeth Castle and Jersey War Tunnels to family activities at the Amazin Maze or Durrell Conservation Wildlife Trust. Concierge are more than happy to give guests directions or arrange transport for excursions.
The best way to discover what Jersey has to offer would be either by car or bicycle. Concierge can arrange these for guests.

WiFi is available throughout the hotel and even in the public areas, including the terrace and Champagne Lounge. There is also access in the Business Centre where guests can use the facilities for checking-in for flights online etc.
Grand Jersey has two baby changing facilities located on the ground floor. One is located in the main reception area and the other in our Park Suites area.
Grand Jersey has limited space for parking at the hotel and can only hold a maximum of 27 cars on a first come first serve basis. There is a public carpark behind the hotel and paycards will need to be used to park here. Paycards can be bought from Grand Jersey reception or concierge.
Jersey uses the same sockets as the UK. European Mainland and International guests will need a 3 pin plug adaptor. These are available from concierge with a deposit of £5.00.
